In those cases where construction related activities or equipment preclude DSNY from removing household trash, contractor staff will transport such trash to the top of the block for ultimate removal by DSNY.
To avoid loss/misplacement of your trash cans, please ensure they are clearly marked with your property's address to avoid confusion when they are being returned.
It would simplify matters if all residents simply utilized securely fastened, large, heavy gauge, plastic bags for such trash disposal to avoid spillage during transport to the top of the block by contractor staff obviating any need to return a trash can.
