The brunch took place on Sunday, March 13, at Legion Post 1404 onCross Bay Boulevard.
Members of Post 1404’s American Legion Auxiliary reported they had record turnout for the event which is held to honor former member and Broad Channel resident Jane Fuller. All proceeds go to Cancer Care.
Those in attendance reported that the legion hall was filled to capacity very early in the event, and several additional large tables had to be rolled out to accommodate the incoming crowd.
One special attendee was Broad Channel resident Hazel Lewis, who came with her friend, Dorothy Fraher.
Lewis was celebrating her 102nd birthday on the day of the brunch.
