The St. Virgilius New Life Choir, under the direction of Doris Dady, made its debut at the Broad Channel church on Christmas Eve.
The group sang at the Dec. 24 Mass, as well as the 10 a.m. Mass on Christmas Day. They were warmly received at both services.
The performance went so well, garnering many positive comments from the community that The Choir, as they are known, has been asked to sing at the Saturday, Jan. 2, services. Starting at 4 p.m., this Mass will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany.
Although plans are unconfirmed, The Choir may be performing at St. Virgilius at Easter services and might sing at services once each month.
