Assemblyman Philip Goldfeder
State Assemblyman Philip Goldfeder is best known as a politician, but has now also been ranked as one of the most stylish elected officials in the state.
"It was an absolute honor to bless the same pages as such fashion icons as George Clooney, Derek Jeter, Madonna," Goldfeder joked.
Goldfeder recently made it on to New York attorney, lobbyist, and fashion-enthusiast Brad Gerstman's list of best dressed politicians in 2015.
Also among the Queens elected officials to be recognized, State Senator Michael Gianaris.
Goldfeder isn't letting the nod go to his head but is having fun with the nod.
"The accolades haven't stopped, the phone hasn't stopped ringing, the emails keep coming in, just the sheer congratulations, and people are nervous because we've set the bar really high," Goldfeder said sarcastically.
According to Gerstman, Goldfeder's style is of a modern-man on the go.
"He's a nice thin looking guy, you know, he looks good at what he puts on, and he's well-tailored. He tries, he has a very conservative kind of look but it works for him and I think people around him think he dresses well," said Gerstman.
The list also includes several other elected officials from across the city and state, including Mayor Bill de Blasio.
"He wears different colored shirts and light ties, and his suits are really fitting him properly, I mean he's an odd size to fit, which isn't so easy being basketball-like," said Gerstman of the mayor.
Gerstman limits his best-dressed lists to male politicians, simply because he says women's fashion isn't his specialty.
