Dear Neighbor,
This week, as we begin the new year, I'm reminded of everything we've accomplished over the last 12 months. Together, neighbor helping neighbor, we continue to make our community a better place to live and raise a family.
I look forward to working with you in 2016 to bring continued prosperity and recovery to all our families. Whether at home or up in Albany, you can always call on me to help with any issue or concern.
Stay Strong,

VIDEO: Sharp-dressed Assemblyman
|
I always strive to give 100% to make our community a better place. I just wasn't aware this included dressing the part. I was recently honored as one of New York State's best dressed elected officials in 2015. I'm humbled by this prestigious honor and pledge to live up to my title in the year ahead. You can see how that's going for me so far by clicking on the link above. |
Improving A Train Commutes
|
I recently called on the Coast Guard and the MTA to expand right-of-way times for A Trains and Shuttles crossing Channel Bridge into Rockaway. A new MTA study agrees that this would help reduce delays and improve commutes for the thousands that depend on this line every day to get to work or school. I will work with my colleagues and continue to fight for improved transit services and infrastructure that our families need and deserve. |
Reforming City Property Taxes
|
Every year, our families struggle with the city's confusing and excessive property tax system. To find solutions, I've teamed up with Assembly Member Nily Rozic to hold an oversight hearing on this issue that affects so many in our community. The hearing will be held on January 22nd, 1 PM at 250 Broadway and is open to the public. I encourage everyone to sign up and submit testimony. Please email me or call my office for more details. |
Going to Bat for Beach Channel
|
On Monday, I joined the School Construction Authority to announce that repairs to the Channel View baseball fields will soon begin. The $1 million project will level the infields and outfields, re-sod grass and install a new irrigation system to reduce flooding and keep the fields looking great. The students of our hometown hero Dolphins have already proven themselves on the field and in the classroom and will now have the facilities they deserve. |
