...MINOR TO LOCALLY MODERATE COASTAL IMPACTS THIS MORNING AND
TONIGHT...

..HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST SUNDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT...
...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IS CANCELLED...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT. THE COASTAL FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN
CANCELLED.

* LOCATIONS...COASTAL LOCATIONS ADJACENT TO THE SOUTH SHORE OF
  QUEENS.

* TIDAL DEPARTURES...THE MORNING HIGH TIDE HAS PASSED. TIDES OF 2
  TO 3 FEET ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDES THIS EVENING.

* TIMING...THE MORNING TIDE HAS PEAKED AND IS RECEDING. MINOR
  COASTAL FLOODING WITH THIS EVENING HIGH TIDE CYCLE.

* BEACH IMPACTS...ELEVATED WATER LEVELS AND LARGE BREAKING WAVES
  ON THE ATLANTIC FACING SHORE OF QUEENS MAY RESULT IN EROSION OF
  DUNES AND LOCALIZED OVERWASH FOR THE BARRIER BEACHES.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...FLOODING OF THE MOST VULNERABLE SHORE
  ROADS AND/OR BASEMENTS DUE TO HEIGHT OF STORM TIDE OR WAVE
  SPLASHOVER. MAJORITY OF ROADS REMAIN PASSABLE. THERE IS NO
  SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO LIFE AND ANY IMPACT ON PROPERTY IS
  MINIMAL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
