Dear Neighbor,

I'm relieved to announce that the majority of storm forecast models now predict that Hurricane Joaquin will take a sharp easterly turn away from New York in the coming days. While it's too soon to be 100% certain, this still comes as welcome news for our families, especially those still recovering from Sandy.

For now, we are expected to see heavy rains, strong winds and minor coastal flooding over the next 72 hours. I urge you to take every necessary precaution to ensure your home is secure and your family safe. Sandy taught us the importance of being vigilant. Regardless of how Joaquin affects our area, we should remain alert and be prepared for any possible outcome.

I will continue to work with Emergency Management and every agency involved in storm preparations as conditions change. For up-to-date information throughout the day, please visit myFacebook page and follow me on Twitter. As always, you canemail me or call my office at (718) 945-9550 with any questions or concerns.

Stay Strong,
