On Sunday, Sept. 13, volunteers from VFW Prince-Wynn Post 260 brought a very special treat to those at the St. Albans Hospital who normally couldn’t make the trip out.
Starting early in the day they packed up several carloads of food and supplies and headed to the hospital center. Once there they provided a full barbecue for the veterans and a day full of entertainment and activities for the residents at the medical center.
As one organizer noted later, “Thankfully, our small town of Broad Channel has long been a community possessed with a great concern for and understanding of the sacrifices made by service members and their families and the men and women of our local VFW are a shining example of that concern and understanding.
