On Saturday morning (August 15th) I received several well meaning calls from concerned neighbors who stated that they were worried that they had observed several individuals arrive on our street in a white sedan with Florida Plates and then utilized an excavator to remove an expensive piece of equipment (large generator) from the bulkhead work site on W12th Road.

A check of the weekly construction schedule for West 12th Road did not indicate any planned work on the block for Saturday so I went outside and introduced myself to the workmen and determined that they were, in fact, authorized to be on site.
By 10:15 a.m., the work site was once again secured and the workmen departed the area.
In the future it might be a good idea to notify W12th Road in advance of any "unscheduled" weekend work activity on the street in order to alleviate any similar confusion.
