THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR 
 
* PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY AND 
SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN 
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHERN FAIRFIELD...NORTHERN NEW 
HAVEN...SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD AND SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN. IN 
NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...EASTERN BERGEN...EASTERN ESSEX... 
EASTERN PASSAIC...EASTERN UNION...HUDSON...WESTERN BERGEN... 
WESTERN ESSEX...WESTERN PASSAIC AND WESTERN UNION. IN 
SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...BRONX...KINGS (BROOKLYN)...NEW YORK 
(MANHATTAN)...NORTHERN QUEENS...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER... 
ORANGE...PUTNAM...RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND)...ROCKLAND...

* THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING 
 
* PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WILL 
CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY AS SEVERAL DISTURBANCES TRACK ALONG A 
FRONTAL BOUNDARY NEAR THE LOCAL AREA. 
 
* HEAVY RAIN WITH RAINFALL RATES AS HIGH AS 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR 
COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY IN URBAN AND POOR 
DRAINAGE AREAS...AND IN LOCATIONS THAT RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN FROM 
THUNDERSTORMS ON SUNDAY. REPEATED TRAINING OF CELLS OVER THE 
SAME AREAS COULD LEAD TO LOCALIZED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER 4 
INCHES.
