There’s nothing bringing your own horse to the party. Photo by Dan GuarinoA lively crowd filled the Veterans of Foreign Wars Prince-Wynn Post in Broad Channel for “Hats And Horses Day” on Saturday, May 3.
They came to cheer on their favorites at the VFW’s Canteen and celebrate the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby at the daylong event.
Keeping with Derby tradition, Post #260 also invited women to come in their most fashionable and imaginative hats. Many creatively obliged!
All proceeds from Hats and Horses Day and other VFW events go to support their programs for disabled veterans.
