LANDMARKS LAW 50th ANNIVERSARY
Borough President Katz proclaimed April 2015 as Landmarks Month in Queens and announced a series of events throughout the borough - including a special reception onApril 21 - to commemorate the semicentennial of the New York City Landmarks Law. “As our communities and families grow, our borough also balances that growth with efforts to preserve the irreplaceable landmark treasures that contextualize our present and shape our future.”  For more information, visit www.queensbp.org/landmarks50.

A TECH HUB GROWS IN QUEENS
Borough President Katz's Queens Tech Zone Strategic Plan Task Force convened on April 1 to discuss next steps after reviewing an inventory analysis of western Queens, where we're building the city's next leading tech ecosystem to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. "Let's steer our borough into the competitive lane of the digital age."




WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
Borough President Katz celebrated Women's History Month with the Queens County Women's Bar Association on March 30.



PASSOVER FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Borough President Melinda Katz joined volunteers at the Tomchei Shabbos of Queens on March 29 to help with the Passover food distribution for people in need.



Every child deserves a Pre-K seat, and this year's expansion has ensured universal access for every four-year-old in New York City. Because of free Pre-K for All programs, the average family saves more than $10,000 each year in childcare costs.
