Dear Neighbor,

We've moved!!! New location, same great service!

I'm excited to announce that my new Howard Beach office, located at 162-38 Cross Bay Boulevard, is open for business!

I am pleased to join the many small and family-owned businesses on Cross Bay Boulevard serving the community. Our on-site parking will make us even more accessible to the entire neighborhood, including local seniors and those with limited mobility.

I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of all our families at my Rockaway and new Howard Beach offices.

Have a very happy and blessed Holiday!

Stay Strong,
Protecting Families from Gas Leaks
As recent events have illustrated, ignoring our natural gas infrastructure can have devastating consequences. After a report last month by the federal government cited recently-installed plastic piping as a possible cause of the 2014 Harlem blast that killed 8 people, I wrote to National Grid demanding action. I've called on the company to perform a comprehensive review of all recently repaired or updated infrastructure to ensure families are safe from defective equipment. Our natural gas providers are public utilities and have a responsibility to ensure safe, affordable service for our families.

Passing Sandy Tax Relief in the Assembly
It's been more than 2 and a half years since Sandy and many of our families are still struggling to recover. Sadly, those that found a way to rebuild are now facing rising property tax assessments and larger tax bills. Together with help from City Hall, I drafted the Sandy tax relief bill to exempt Sandy repairs from city property assessments. I'm pleased to report that it has passed in the Assembly. This is a major victory for our families who do not deserve to be taxed for simply repairing and replacing what was lost in the storm. I am confident this bill will pass in the State Senate and be signed into law by the Governor to provide the relief our families need.

Fighting for MMA in New York
New York is the ONLY state in the country that does not allow professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition and deprives millions of fans the chance to see the popular sport in their own backyard. Legalizing and regulating MMA in NYS would make the sport safer, bring millions of dollars in tax revenue and boost economic activity for our local businesses. MMA is available on TV and becoming increasingly popular, yet residents are forced to travel across state lines to enjoy a live match. I've sponsored a bill to legalize and regulate MMA so that it can be safely enjoyed by all New Yorkers. It's time we end Albany's chokehold on MMA!
