Dear Neighbor,
We came a long way in 2014 and although we have made tremendous progress, there is still so much work left to do!

I'm especially thankful for everything we have accomplished together and I'm eager to continue our work in 2015 to make our families and community even stronger for the future.

From my family to yours, have a safe and happy holiday season and a wonderful new year!
Stay Strong,

Post Office in Broad Channel
Teamed up with Senator Chuck Schumer to demand the U.S. Postal Service bring service back to Broad Channel. Two years since Sandy and families still don't have the services they deserve. This is especially hard for our seniors, who have to travel miles to mail letters or send care packages. That's why the Senator and I have called on Postmaster Donahoe to immediately install a new facility in Broad Channel and help return life to normal for hundreds of families.
Oppose Dangerous LNG
I've long been opposed to the Port Ambrose LNG project to store and transport unstable Liquefied Natural Gas off the coast of Long Island. I've urged Gov. Cuomo to veto the current plan and requested the federal government hold public hearings in all affected coastal communities. Our families in southern Queens and Rockaway deserve to know the risks and voice their concerns about this project and any future threats to our safety and our environment.
Safer Streets in Ozone Park
In response to my recent letter to the Department of Transportation (DOT) regarding the broken and missing fence along the Conduit outside MS 202 in Ozone Park, I'm proud to announce DOT has already begun to fix the gaps and install new fences. This is a major victory that will keep our students safe and ensure parents no longer have to worry about their children making it to school every morning alive and well.
