Both Rocky the Dog and Santa made special appearances. The American Legion Hall in Broad Channel was filled with delighted children on Sunday, Dec. 14 as Post 1404 hosted its Annual Children’s Christmas Party.
More than 40 kids from infants to 3rd graders enjoyed holiday fun and treats that included homemade cupcakes and drinks.
Jason the Magician had the little ones squealing with delight with his show, which included his snake and birds. He even whipped up cotton candy for them.
Rocky the Dog was a great hit giving out candy canes. Rocky is the official mascot of the Allied Rockaway Foundation for Animal Recreation and Fitness: ARF-ARF!
Topping off the afternoon was Santa, who made a special personal appearance. Mr. Claus happily gave out gifts and posed for pictures with the children.
The young partygoers were delighted and, according to one organizer, “All had a wonderful time!”
