39 Years ago this Sunday: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgeralad

November 10, 1975

A 729 foot ore carrier, The Edmund Fitzgerald, was lost on Lake Superior 

with all hands (29 crew) while sailing from Wisconsin to Cleaveland when the....

"Gales of November came early..." 

One year later in 1976, this tragedy became an American legend with Gordon Lightfoot's song,  "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."
