All weekend, folks from the peninsula kept talking about the whale sightings, so it brought more than a few folks to town to see it for themselves.
John Dwyer was visiting Rockaway this week from Howard Beach when he saw this beauty rising to the surface. The picture was taken from the shoreline at Beach 104th Street on Sept. 2 at 4:30 p.m.
