Tuesday, September 9th will be our next full moon. It is also a "perigee full moon" meaning that the moon will be at it's closest distance to the Earth in its orbit. We non-scientific types also refer to this type of full perigee moon as a "Super Moon"!
The 9 calendar day period consisting of Friday, September 5th through Saturday, September 13th will see a total of 14 high tides with astronomical heights sufficient to cause tidal street on West 12th Road and other low lying areas of Broad Channel.
