Dear Neighbor,

I want to give a special welcome to our WoundedWarriors!

Since Wednesday, hundreds of veterans and their families have joined the Rockaway community for the annual Wounded Warrior Project Adaptive Water Sports Festival. Families all over Rockaway have opened their doors to welcome our brave injured service men and women for the long weekend. If you see these heroes around the neighborhood, please give a warm thank you for their service to our country!

Also, the Wave has launched a new podcast and I was honored to join Mark Healey for an in-depth interview, which can be heard here. You can still stay up to date withcommunity news and daily updates by following me onFacebook and Twitter

Stay Strong,
More Parking in Lindenwood
After countless complaints from residents, I have called on theDepartment of Transportation (DOT) to paint parking lines and provide additional parking spaces along 157th avenue between 80th and 77th streets in Lindenwood.   Currently, drivers park haphazardly along 157th avenue, often receiving traffic violations. A small effort from DOT will allow local families to have more parking spaces and additional access to their neighborhood.
Our Fight Continues for the Rockaway Ferry Service!
Although the Rockaway ferry service was not included in the final city budget, our community will not give up the fight. I am severely disappointed in City Hall and the Economic Development Corporation for ignoring the transit needs of southern Queens and Rockaway families. Like every other borough in the city, we deserve an affordable, efficient and reliable means of transportation.

MTA Van for Seniors
Over 100 seniors took advantage of the MTA Metrocard van that I sponsored at the Howard Beach and Rockaway Park Senior Centers. The MetroCard Van provided assistance to seniors and those with disabilities to access services. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this day such a success!
