What do the Loch Ness Monster, Jamaica Bay Jamie, the Wave and Kevin Boyle have in common?

I came across a story in Great Britain's Daily Mail Online which suggests that Nessie, Scotland's beloved Loch Ness Monster, may be dead.

According to the story there have been no "confirmed sightings" of the Scottish Beast in the past 18 months.

This was confirmed by veteran Nessie Spotter Gary Campbell who keeps a register of such sightings.

Mr. Campbell said it was the first time since 1925 that there has been no confirmed reports of the creature.  "It's very upsetting news and we don't know where she's gone," he said.

That got me to thinking....what about our very own Jamaica Bay Jamie?

We know Jamie was first spotted swimming about the bay back in 2003 and then went missing until 2006 when the below article appeared in the WAVE's April 7, 2006 edition.

It has been three years since the last 'official' sighting of Jamaica Bay's own "Nessy". Last week Dr Rawling from the Endangered Species Protection Agency spotted her with the newborn.

Having survived Super Storm Sandy, Jamie was sighted once again on March 29, 2013 and documented in the below March 29, 2013 edition of the WAVE.

This anonymous photo captured Jamaica Bay’s own Loch Ness monster, “Jamie,” before she slipped beneath the surface. Several film crews are scheduled to convene inBroad Channel on Monday in hopes of capturing the sea monster again.

To the best of my knowledge the above March 2013 report of Jamie was the last confirmed sighting of the Belle of our Jamaica Bay.

The above notwithstanding, I have received several unconfirmed reports of Jamie being spotted on the ice near Ruffle Bar (the one in the bay!) in the company of Kevin Boyle last week.
According to my sources,  Kevin was in an ice boat and sharing beverages from a large body cooler with Jamie.

The word on the street is that Kevin was conferring with Jamie in the hopes of coming up with some decent ideas for this past week's Boyleing Points column.

After reading last week's  "Double Features" Boyleing Points, I can only conclude that if Kevin did indeed meet with Jamie, it is obvious that our Jamaica Bay behemoth was unable to come up with any good column ideas either!
