Senators Work to Stop FEMA's Rising Rates

North Dakota's delegation says they want to stop the Federal Emergency Management Agency from unfairly raising rates on flood insurance.
Both Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven worked on the provision together, which would require that the agency continue to evaluate the lowest proofed opening in a home, rather than the lowest floor.
Together they are working to pass a bill in congress that would not only stop FEMA from raising rates, but also would allow homeowners to receive credit on their rates for flood proofed basements.
