Dear Friend-
During the last few months, we've built a geographically diverse and broad bipartisan coalition of nearly 200 Members of Congress that are committed to fixing flood insurance. We have the support needed to pass our bill and that's thanks to hard work of people like you.
Yesterday, I went to the Senate floor with several of my colleagues to ask for the Senate to take a vote on our bill, the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, so that families and business in Louisiana and across the nation can have access to affordable flood insurance.
But there's one person who stood in the way of this bill getting a vote and that's Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho.
Call Senator Crapo at (202) 224-6142 or tweet him @MikeCrapo and tell him to let us simply vote on the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.
I'm confident that we have the votes to pass this bill if Sen. Crapo would let us have a vote. We need to pass it to fix the flawed Biggert-Waters Act and build a future that Louisianians can count on, where they can safely and affordably live where they have for generations providing the energy our country needs, keeping commerce flowing and making the products we need to grow our economy.
Keep in touch,
