Citizens Committee for New York City awards grants up to $3,000 to resident-led groups
Goldfeder: Have a great idea for a community improvement project? Apply for a grant!
Rockaway, Queens—Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder (D-Rockaway) announced today applications are now being accepted for the Citizens Committee for New York City's neighborhood grants program which awards up to $3,000 to community groups, public school-based groups, and NYCHA tenants associations working to improve quality of life across the city. The application deadline for this grant is January 27, 2014.
“This grant is the perfect opportunity to help our communities still recovering after Superstorm Sandy,” said Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder. “Additional funding for community based projects will not only improve our quality of life, but could also offer valuable assistance for our local organizations.”
Groups that have previously been supported by the Citizens Committee for New York City grant program include, community gardening, theater and fine arts, nutrition awareness, composting, tenant organizing, physical fitness, public safety and more.
“I urge all eligible applicants to take advantage of this grant program,” said Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder. "In the aftermath of Sandy we know that every dollar is important to get us back on our feet."
