Safe Streets at P.S. 232
I am proud to announce that after years of fighting for safer streets near P.S. 232 in Lindenwood, the Department of Transportation (DOT) has heard our concerns and installed a mobile speed board. The sign will warn drivers and help protect students as they travel to and from the school. This is only the first step. I will continue to work with DOT, Principal Josephson and parents until a permanent solution is made. |
Funding Cuts Restored For Developmental Disability Programs
As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Autism Retention, I sponsored a bill, that was recently signed by the Governor, to restore more than 90 million dollars in funding to the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) for community based services. This critical funding will provide staff and programs to our children and families with developmental disabilities and will ensure that our most vulnerable will not lose any services. |
Tour of Rockaway Waste Water Treatment Plant
After receiving numerous reports of strong odors coming from the Rockaway Waste Water Treatment Plant, I toured theplant and spoke with crews to see firsthand their operations and discuss ways to alleviate the odor.
There is no simple solution, but something must be done!
