Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am writing you this e-mail in an effort to do for one very special family, what they did for my town and my family in the days and nights following Hurricane Sandy.

In the wake of one of the worst storms in US history, the Farmer family (Johanna, Shiloh, and their girls Sheyanne and Gigi) of Rapid City, South Dakota reached out to their community and filled up boxes of clothing, canned goods, and other miscellaneous supplies and shipped it to my fiancée’s home in Long Island. The goods were then distributed throughout my town of Broad Channel, and the surrounding communities of Howard Beach, West Hamilton Beach, and the Rockaways.

On Sunday, October 6th and in the midst of one of the worst blizzards to ever hit South Dakota, the Farmer family experienced a horrific tragedy of their own. At approximately 1:00am Sunday morning, the family’s recently purchased home, burnt to the ground in a fire that spread in a matter of minutes and destroyed everything they owned.

In an effort to give back to those who went above and beyond for my family, friends and neighbors, my fiancée and I have set up a web page that is currently accepting monetary donations in an effort to help them rebuild their home and their lives.

Please understand that this is completely optional and you are not obligated to participate.
I’d like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this message.

Sincerely,

--
