95th Street Beautification Project Unveiling Ceremony - Sunday 10/20/2013

Greetings-

We are expecting this Sunday’s 95 Street Beautification Project Unveiling Ceremony to be a very fun and exciting event.

The weather promises to be perfect for this community celebration hosted by the Rockaway Beach Civic Association.

The event will take place at 95 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, and the official start time is 10am.
The ceremony is scheduled to be about an hour in length.

We will be celebrating the landscaping and new “Welcome To Rockaway Beach” sign installation at 95 Street. The installation was made possible with the funds raised from the RBCA 5K fundraiser that took place onSeptember 15.

As you may have heard, at the planting and installation session last Saturday our Civic discovered several memorial plaques dedicated to lost soldiers from the Vietnam War beneath the soil. Those plaques were re-installed as part of our beautification project, and we will be honoring those soldiers this Sunday with a very special performance of God Bless America.

The event will also feature appearances by our elected officials, music from DJ Eddy Pastore, and a presentation of our Nation’s colors by Rockaway resident and activist, Danny Ruscillo during the playing of the National Anthem.

This event is free and all are invited.

Thank you.
Dan Brown
Community Relations Committee Chair
