Residents of Southeast Louisiana have been getting a better look at the federal government's new flood maps, and in many cases, the things they're seeing aren't pretty.

In March, the people of St. Charles Parish were shown the FEMA flood maps for their neighborhoods and there was some sticker shock.

A meeting was called Monday night to discuss the issues raised by the maps.
St. Charles Parish President V.J. St. Pierre was in the studio with more information.

After you watch the video (linked above), ask yourself the following question,

Why don't we hear our elected officials speaking about this issue like St. Charles Parish President V.J. St. Pierre?
