Columbia University Journalism Student Interested in Broad Channel Resident Interviews...

We received the below email from a graduate student at the Columbia University School of Journalism requesting to get in touch with Broad Channel residents regarding her ongoing video story of the future of our community.

Anyone interested in contacting Clodagh regarding her story may contact her via email which is listed under her name at the end of the email.

Hi there,

My name is Clodagh McGowan and I'm a graduate student at the Columbia University School of Journalism.

I'm currently working on a video story focusing on the future of communities ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.

I have been in touch with civic groups in the Rockaways about jetties, dunes and better coastal protection.

I am hoping to connect with some people in Broad Channel to talk about raising homes.

Also particularly interested in talking about the Biggert-Waters Act.

Let me know if you would be interested in taking part in the story or if you can refer me to any willing parties.

Thank you for your time! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,
Clodagh

Note to Dan Mundy: perhaps the Civic Association could extend an invitation for her to attend the next meeting?

Note to George Kasimos at Stop FEMA Now - perhaps your organization should contact her as well?

Note to Dan McIntyre:  might not be a bad idea for the BCVFD to get involved in this project also?
