On Tuesday, March 26. 2013, the above truck belonging to "John Bisetta Ent. - Spray Foam and Insulation" [partial out of state plate - P4360...] was unsuccessfully attempting to make a U-turn at the bay end of W12th Road at 12:10 pm by continually backing into the driveway at 59 W12thRd. After several minutes the driver gave up and simply backed up W12thRd.
Several minutes later when I went outside I noticed the small walkway wall at 59 W12thRd had been knocked down. The damaged wall in question had been standing earlier that morning. By this time the truck in question had departed the block.
Considering all the damage sustained by our houses as a result of Hurricane Sandy, this is not of significant consequence; however, simple courtesy should have dictated the driver of the truck stop and report this incident to the homeowner or a neighbor.
Take a look at the pavers in front of 43 west 12th road -- half are gone courtesy of the private sanitation contractors who were removing debris post-Sandy. They felt no obligation to own up and as helpful as they were, our sdewalk was destroyed without anyone taking responsibility or offering repairs. I can't wait for the street is raised.
