Tucked away on the west side of the small town of Broad Channel in the middle of Jamiaca Bay is a narrow, dead end, street that goes by the name of West 12th Road. Those of us who live there know that the nice part about living in a small town is that when you are not quite sure what is going on, someone else always does!

I found similar needles while walking past the Silver Gull Beach club in Breezy Point. Needle still fixed to the casing. In this day and age, someone should be in prison for this.
Near the 116th area I can understand the visitors being blamed. But who's to say this isn't washing up from some offshore waste dumping. Who's to blame then?
I saw syringes at the island today (Little Egg Marsh) alongside what appeared to be sewer waste/toilet paper etc. The amount of junk in the water points to either illegal or accidental dumping on a mass, (not individual) level. Needless to say I jumped back in the kayak and headed in the opposite direction.
