"The Edward I. Koch Bridge" song?

59th Street (Queensboro) Bridge
Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.

Back in 1967 we were all happily singng along with Simon and Garfunkel's 59th Sreet Bridge song (Feeling Groovy) even though the iconic bridge isn't once mentioned in the lyrics.

If Simon and Garfunkel ever decide to release a new version of the song it will have to be entitled "The Edward I. Koch Bridge" song!  The Bloomberg Administration wants to rename the span over the East River after former Mayor Ed Koch.

The name change requires approval by the City Council and Speaker Christine Quinn told the New York Times that she supports it.

By the way, the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel is also getting a new name. State lawmakers voted Tuesday to rename it after former Governor Hugh Carey.
